SPM-GKI Scholarship

Scholarship Renewed Yearly

Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri (SPM) awards scholarships to the members of GKI Kwitang congregation on the basis of merit and competitive process that consider academic achievement and demonstrated leadership capabilities to be part of the esteemed SPM Primary, Junior High School, and Senior High School community.

Scholarships are awarded at Kindergarten 1 up to Grade 12 based on academic achievements, Scholarship Committee review recommendations, and a face-to-face interview. Scholarships are renewable if the recipient maintains qualifying renewal criteria.

SCHOLARSHIP QUOTA

Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri provides full annual tuition fee waiver for members of GKI congregation to enter Kindergarten 1-2, Primary 1-6, Junior High School 7-9, and Senior High School 10-12, or as follows:

Scholarships are renewable if the recipient maintains qualifying renewal criteria. The scholarship does not cover the yearly development fees, uniforms, international exam fees, books, international exchanges/conferences programs, and extracurricular activities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be considered for the scholarship, students must meet the following eligibility criteria. Criteria for entry to Kindergarten and Primary:

  • Members of GKI congregation. (Letter of Membership from GKI Kwitang - One Year Validity - Renewed Yearly)

  • Be enrolled as a student at a public or private school in the greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).

  • Kindergarten 1 to Grade 2 applicants shall sit in a trial, written test, and interview.

  • Grade 3-6 applicants shall sit in SPM written test and interview.

  • Demonstrate strong academic achievement (average score of 80 and above) and leadership skill.

  • Demonstrates good command of spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English.

  • Completed and submitted all scholarship application materials to SPM no later than April 20, every year.

Criteria for entry to Junior High School and Senior High School:

  • Members of GKI congregation. (Letter of Membership from GKI Kwitang - One Year Validity - Renewed Yearly)

  • Be enrolled as a student at a public or private school in the greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).

  • Sits in SPM written test and interview.

  • Demonstrates strong academic achievement (average score of 80 and above) and leadership skill.

  • Demonstrates fluent spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English.

  • Completed and submitted all scholarship application materials to SPM no later than April 20, every year.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Submit in ONE sealed envelope the following documents:

  • Completed and signed Scholarship Application Form

  • Completed Narrative Statement and resume (for Junior High and Senior High students only)

  • Completed Recommendation from School (for Junior High and Senior High students only)

  • Official Report Card and UN result/other official qualifications (Note: UN result can be submitted later)

  • Copy of parents’ ID (KTP/Passport)

  • 4 recent colour photographs (2 copies 4x6 cm and 2 copies 3x4 cm)

Completed application and required documents must be submitted no later than April 20, every year. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered. Please double-check that all questions are answered and all information requested is included accurately.

INTERVIEW AND WRITTEN TEST

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview with SPM Scholarship Committee, followed with a written test. Interview will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia and/or English. A written test will be administered before the interview to measure the level of English proficiency and logical knowledge.

SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Scholarship recipients will be announced in May every year. If selected to receive the scholarship, the recipient must agree to the following commitments:

  • Actively participate in all academic activities, school events, outdoor activities, competitions, and other activities.

  • Receive the scholarship and merit-based renewal requirements as stipulated above.

  • Grant SPM permission to use the applicant’s name and image for the purpose of publicizing the scholarship in media, including school newsletter, SPM website, and social media.
