The K-12 Leadership Journey: Beginning with the End in Mind

As a school deeply inspired by the Seven Habits framework, we empower students to take proactive ownership of their success. The core of this is teaching students to "begin with the end in mind." They learn to identify what they want to achieve, map out the steps to get there, and take direct action.

The Leadership Notebook

From first grade all the way through twelfth grade, every SPM student maintains a personal Leadership Notebook and Binder. This is where their personalized journey lives and breathes.

  • Tracking Progress: Students record their Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) and actively track their own data.

  • Accountability Partners: Students work with peer accountability partners who review and sign off on their progress, building a culture of mutual support.

  • Celebrating Success: Binders also serve as a portfolio of student achievements, highlighting their unique talents and milestones.

Student-Led Conferences

We have transformed the traditional parent-teacher meeting into dynamic Student-Led Conferences. Using their Leadership Notebooks, students proudly present their progress directly to their parents. They showcase their goals, share their data tracking, and take clear accountability for their own academic journey.

High School: Bespoke University Pathways

As students transition into high school, personalized attention shifts toward their future careers and university placements. Because SPM is a close-knit community, we have the agility to tailor our attention to any objective a student might have.

  • Grade 9 Personality Assessments: The real university pathway planning begins in Grade 9. We use comprehensive personality and aptitude assessments to identify which subjects align best with a student's natural strengths and future ambitions.

  • Dedicated Academic Counselors: Every high school student works 1-on-1 with an Academic Advisor and the School Counselor to plot out a highly bespoke educational journey.

  • The Mentorship Triad: This advisory process is a true partnership. Regular meetings and updates between the counselor, the student, and the parents ensure everyone is aligned on the student’s targets and the exact progress being made.

A Safety Net for Every Student
