We, here at SPM, firmly believe that it is our role to cultivate lifelong learning in each of our students. This journey has to begin in an environment that best suits the student's developmental needs.

Therefore a new student's placement into the most appropriate grade is vital. However, we have to overcome the common public misconception that early entrance into higher grades is in a student's best interests. A child develops a multitude of skills and abilities and we have to ensure we nurture the whole child.

In general, we allow students to be trialled in classes based on their ages. The cut-off date is the 31st of August. This restricts the desire to solely push children academically when they need important time and experiences to develop their character fully.
