"Unlocking the Secrets of the Solar Corona" We are immensely proud to celebrate Dr. Ayu Ramada Sukarmadji, recipient of the prestigious ESPD Patricia Edwin Thesis Prize. Her groundbreaking PhD research utilized machine learning and MHD simulations to prove that "nanoflares" are a common phenomenon in the solar corona. By identifying small-angle magnetic reconnection as a primary driver, Dr. Sukarmadji has provided the global scientific community with vital new insights into the mystery of coronal heating.
