Establishing a Solid Foundation for Future Success: At the culmination of the Primary phase, our students sit the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint assessments to verify their understanding of core concepts. Focusing on English as a First Language, Mathematics, and Science, these diagnostic tests offer a standardized international measure of ability. We utilize these detailed reports to smooth the transition into Secondary school, ensuring every learner possesses the academic confidence and fundamental skills required for the next stage of their education.

Cambridge First Language English

Cultivating Articulate Communicators: Beyond simple literacy, this curriculum fosters a genuine enthusiasm for reading and precision in writing. Students engage with a diverse range of fiction and non-fiction texts from different eras and cultures, learning to analyze language and context. Cambridge Mathematics

Cambridge Science

The Cambridge Primary Checkpoint: A Guide for Parents

What are the Checkpoint Exams? The Cambridge Primary Checkpoint is an internationally recognised series of assessments taken in the final year of Primary education (Year 6). Unlike traditional exams that result in a simple "pass" or "fail," these tests are diagnostic tools designed to provide a comprehensive picture of your child’s academic strengths and areas for growth.

Marked externally by Cambridge International, they offer an objective, global benchmark of performance in English, Mathematics, and Science. For us as a school, they validate our curriculum delivery; for you as parents, they offer a clear, detailed report on your child's readiness for Secondary school.

When do they take place? The Checkpoint exams are held annually, typically scheduled by the school during the [usually April/May or October] exam series. Specific dates are released well in advance to ensure students are prepared without feeling overwhelmed.
