Chloe Secures Honorable Mention at Harvard Model United Nations

At Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri (SPM) Panglima Polim Campus, we believe that leadership is not just a position, but a choice we make every day. Today, we are bursting with pride to announce that one of our own has taken that choice to the global stage.

We are thrilled to congratulate Chloe, a dedicated 10th-grade student, for winning the Honorable Mention award at the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN).

A Stage for Future Leaders

The Harvard Model United Nations is one of the oldest and most prestigious international relations simulations in the world. It brings together thousands of promising students from across the globe to discuss critical world issues. To stand out in such a competitive arena is no small feat—it requires deep research, sharp critical thinking, and diplomatic grace.

Living the 7 Habits in Action

Chloe’s success is a shining example of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in action. Her journey to this award perfectly illustrates how these principles guide our students toward excellence:

  • Habit 1: Be Proactive: Chloe took the initiative to prepare for complex global topics, showing that success comes to those who take charge of their preparation.

  • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: In the heat of debate, the best delegates are those who listen. Chloe demonstrated exceptional diplomatic skills by listening to opposing viewpoints before articulating her own, a core tenet of international cooperation.

  • Habit 6: Synergize: Model UN is about coalition building. By working with delegates from different backgrounds to draft resolutions, Chloe showed the power of creative cooperation.

Finding Her Voice

As a Leader in Me school, our goal is to help every student "Find Their Voice." Chloe has certainly found hers. Whether she was drafting policy papers or speaking in committee sessions, she represented the academic rigor of our Cambridge International School curriculum and the character values of SPM.

This achievement is not just a win for Chloe; it is an inspiration to her peers. It proves that with a clear end in mind (Habit 2) and the discipline to put first things first (Habit 3), our students can compete—and succeed—at the highest international levels.

Congratulations, Chloe! You have made the entire SPM family incredibly proud. We look forward to seeing how you continue to use your leadership skills to make a positive difference in the world.
